Secondart.com is a collector to collector classifieds website. We aim to provide a direct link between art collectors.
A collector, big or small, may access a wide audience of buyers through Secondart for one reasonable fee of £40 per artwork listed.
Secondart does not take a commission from your sale. There are no hidden charges, the £40 fee covers the administration of the site.
When selling you may include up to 5 images of the artwork and any information you like.
The form requires only the name of the artist, the title of the artwork, (you may put 'untitled') the year or approximate year of production and an email address. Only one artwork per form.
You may put a price or leave blank for POA, you may include details such as whether the artwork is signed and where, if the art work has a certificate of authentication and so on; it is entirely up to you how much information you include.
- Secondart is extremely privacy orientated.
- You do not have to submit any personal information.
- The only information needed is an email address.
- You can use any email address you wish.
- Your email address does not have to include your name.
- Your email address will not be disclosed on the website.
The buyer will email you through the site, without seeing your email address.
When you reply, directly to the buyer, they receive an email from you with your address, as with normal email communication.
Payment for your listing will be through PayPal or by cheque in the post.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
Secondart are not a gallery, broker or art dealer. We are a listing service.
When you post an artwork for sale a buyer will email you directly and you take it from there.
We do not do shipping, insurance, tax, provenance, viewings or provide any further information about artworks other than that which has been supplied by the Seller.
We do not guarantee authenticity.
We will have a list of recommended shippers, framers, insurers and other resources coming soon on the site.
IMPORTANT DETAIL
Secondart will only list artworks that are considered to be of interest to our users. You will only be charged if your listing has been accepted.
Works will run until sold or until six months is up. If a work is more valuable it may take longer to sell and we will leave it on longer for you.
We will not list bulk submissions; Secondart is intended for use by collectors selling to each other.
Secondart welcomes gallery listings but we will not list entire shows.
Galleries must list any tax or extra costs that are applicable; this can be put in the 'Information' box on the Seller's form.
Please do not take offense if the work is not listed, it may be that we already have too much similar work on the site at that time.We are trying to create a site that is fun and interesting to visit, rather than a massive phone book of artworks.

Secondart is a listing service for collectors to re-sell artworks to other collectors and galleries to re-sell work to collectors worldwide.
It is specifically for the secondary market and is not intended for first time sales of artist's work or shows.
